Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th in 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her Pho EP. This was the moment that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began posting her music to the internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her own single Bound along with the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. The song Sweat it included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to use it in conjunction with Rihanna. The announcement that she would be signed by Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. She was featured on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP, on Oct 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. in 2018, the singer-songwriter appeared on two tracks with EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The album's first single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream came out the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a an accompanying music video. Then on the 9th November she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013, she dropped No One and Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16and later released the song as a single by herself for her first album. It was released with a music video on February 20 2019 that surpassed three million views via YouTube within its first seven days. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December the year 2018.
